SUGAR HIGH COMPANY BIOS
Pollinator is a hive of creative talent, a nexus of classical theatre genres and new work in play with physical theatre, circus, opera ritual and performance. Pollinator blurs the lines between performance and reality and between audience and spectator.
Artistic Director Patricia Miller is based in London/San Francisco. Patricia brings a diversity of experience to theatre directing, teaching and acting. She is interested in a strong dynamic between text work and physical theatre techniques. She works in many genres raging from classics to new play development, modern works and live arts genres ( performance, circus, ritual and opera,). Her work has been seen all over the UK, including Edinburgh premieres, Europe and California. She has an MFA in Directing from UC Davis.
Patricia Miller ( Writer Director)U.S. directing credits include The Magic Theatre, UC Riverside, UC Davis, Berkeley Rep School, and San Francisco venues including Teatro Zinzanni. U.K. directing credits include Mountview Theatre School ( on core acting staff); National Youth Theatre of Great Britain; New Playwrights Festival, London; Riverside Studios, London and the Edinburgh Festival.
Bay Area acting credits include Family Butchers (Peg) for the Magic Theatre; Romeo and Juliet (Lady Capulet) and Dolly West's Kitchen (Rima, understudy) for TheatreWorks; Beautiful Thing (Sandra) and Cloud Nine (Maud/Lin) for NCTC; Bold Girls (Marie) for Viaduct ; Blood Wedding(La Criada/La Muerte) for Shotgun and member of ensembles Pacific Playback and Mystic Family Circus.
Miller's teaching credits include UC Riverside, UC Davis, Berkeley City College, San Francisco City College, California Shakespeare Festival and Aurora Theatre Education and Berkeley Rep.

James Chionsini Jr. ( Joey) is a social worker and non profit community organizer who is regularly seen at San Francisco city hall fighting for the rights of seniors and people with disabilities.
Celeste Coit ( Helena)is an actress, drama therapist, dementia whisperer and, for the first time, a Pollinator. She has performed in theater, radio and on the large and small screen all over the world (resume available upon request and sometimes even if it's not requested). Thanks to Patricia and the cast for a hell of a romp, and to Ricky Jay, because he's my darlin'.
Paul Jennings ( Dominic) has worked extensively in Northern California, appearing primarily in Shakespeare productions (44 productions of 26 of the plays), and has worked with Berkeley Rep,Cal Shakes, Shakespeare, ETC (Co-founder), Theatre, Period (Founder), Pacific Repertory Theatre, Shakespeare at Stinson, and many other companies. Recent roles include Falstaff in "The Boar's Head" with Theatre Pub, and the title roles in Richard III at Shady Shakespeare, and Macbeth, with Subterranean Shakespeare.
Crystelle Reola ( Assistant J) was born and raised in Los Angeles, resides and works in beautiful Santa Cruz as an assistant to UC Santa Cruz's Cultural Arts and Diversity Resource Center, Rainbow Theater, and the African American Theater Arts Troupe. She enjoys fulfilling her passion of acting in the Bay Area, and would like to thank Patricia Miller for giving her this opportunity, as well as her family and friends for always supporting her! Von Boom Boom ( Professor Murnau) is a renegade emigre artist escaping the cultural repression of state funded European arts initiatives, to live on the thrilling edge of the capitalist wastelands of post Empire Estados unidos. VN is oft confused with infamous twin sibling/leibling Voluptua Namaste Von Boom Boom the great Cabaret Chanteuse. The Boom Booms can be reached through Pollinator, Morse code or spirit animal channeling.
